Prosecutors: Police informant planted evidence, wrongly sent people to prison
Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales’ office is helping exonerate three people wrongly convicted of drug charges based on evidence that was planted by a police informant, he announced Wednesday.Two of them, John Gabriel Cape and Louie Garcia, went to prison, while Cape’s girlfriend, Rexina Linan-Juarez, died before it was revealed that the evidence relied on to pressure them into accepting plea deals was tainted.
