Real Justice PAC is excited to endorse Kim Foxx’s re-election campaign to be the State’s Attorney of Cook County, Illinois. In her first term, Kim championed alternatives to incarceration and expunged tens of thousands of marijuana convictions. Under her leadership, the number of people sentenced to jail or prison dropped by 20 percent. Her record speaks for itself.

But challengers who oppose reform want to take Chicago back to the punitive, pro-incarceration status quo. We can’t let them win. Let’s make sure Kim keeps her seat, keeps making progress toward reform, and keeps reducing the number of people in prison.

Kim grew up seeing firsthand the impact of crime, violence, and poverty in Chicago communities. She’s fought for Cook County her entire career, and she led a justice reform agenda to address racial disparities in the criminal and juvenile justice systems. She’s also a veteran prosecutor – for 12 years she served as Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office.

We can count on Kim to fight to end mass incarceration and hold police accountable. She is the reformer that Chicago needs.
