The Real Justice PAC proudly endorses justice advocate Chris Johnson to be the next Attorney General of Delaware. The position of Attorney General in Delaware comes with significant responsibilities, including managing more than 450 staff, including nearly 150 prosecutors.
The state of Delaware is unique in that its prosecutors are not elected, but instead appointed by the state’s Attorney General. Prosecutors are powerful officials who possess the ability to oversee criminal prosecution without virtually no limits on discretion. That means the results of the Attorney General will determine the approach statewide to mass incarceration, accountability for police violence, and the fate of the mentally ill and those suffering from addiction who become caught up the criminal justice system.
As a longtime voter protection lawyer who serves on the Board of Directors of the Delaware Center for Justice, Chris Johnson has proven his commitment to real justice reform. The time for change is now and Chris Johnson is the most credible candidate to bring the change and progress that Delaware deserves.
“We have a real opportunity to create change in Delaware’s justice system, and finally address their rampant mass incarceration,” said Shaun King, Co-Founder of The Real Justice PAC. “If we elect Chris Johnson as Delaware’s next Attorney General, he will make history as the state’s first chief law enforcement officer to fight back against mass incarceration, and build teams of reform-minded district attorneys across the state.”
Now more than ever before, we need to elect diverse, reform-minded prosecutors in key races across the country. In Delaware, where the Attorney General sets the standard for the entire state, Chris Johnson is the champion for justice we need.
